Amazon is a world leader in cloud services, so many customers are integrated with their services. One of the many services offered by AWS is **AuroraDB**.

### What is AuroraDB?

Amazon Aurora is a relational database compatible with MySQL and PostgreSQL, and built for the cloud.

- Amazon Aurora is up to five times faster than standard MySQL databases, and three times faster than standard PostgreSQL databases.
- It offers the security, availability and reliability of commercial-grade databases at one-tenth of the cost.
- Amazon Aurora is fully managed by Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), which automates demanding administrative tasks such as hardware provisioning, database configuration, patching, and backups.

### Integration

The integration with AuroraDB allows you to use it as a ConfigDB for platform deployments, but also as a relational database on top of which you can handle platform concepts.
